Jordan 1 Mid SE Orange Suede

The Jordan 1 Mid SE Orange Suede swaps the standard leather upper for suede in a burnt orange. Buy it if you want texture on a Jordan 1 rather than another smooth leather pair.

Suede changes the shoe more than a colour swap does. It is softer out of the box, it takes light and shadow differently across the panels, and it creases into folds rather than hard lines. The rest is standard Jordan 1 Mid: mid-height collar over the ankle, encapsulated Air in the heel, rubber cupsole with herringbone traction. SE designation means the materials were upgraded from the base Mid.

This is for people whose fits run brown, cream, olive and washed denim, where an orange suede reads as warm rather than loud. It is a very different proposition from an orange leather sneaker.

Suede does need more care than leather, particularly against water. If you want low maintenance, a leather colourway is the better call.
