The Air Jordan 5 Grape pairs a white nubuck upper with purple and teal accents, one of the most recognisable colourways in the entire Jordan line. Buy it if you want a Jordan 5 with real colour and a size run that actually has stock in the mid sizes.
Nubuck upper, 3M reflective tongue, translucent rubber outsole and the sharkstooth teeth along the midsole. Tinker Hatfield took the design cues from WWII fighter plane nose art, which is why the 5 has both the teeth and the reflective panel.
Grape is loud in a way that has aged well. Purple and teal against white works with denim, grey and black, and it is one of the few colour-forward Jordans that has never gone out of style since 1990.
Three pairs in an 8.5 and three in a 9, which is unusual depth. Most Jordan 5 listings at resale are single orphan pairs.
